Aims
Chimie et Société aims to :
- Contribute to the promotion of scientific culture by conducting discussions on: the advances of chemistry, the issues that it may arise in the fields of environment, food safety, health ... and the solutions it can provide.
- Inform citizens on the applications of chemistry, by showing its role in many aspects of everyday life and in the various technologies commonly used.
- Contribute to the efforts to attract more young people to scientific studies.
- Analyze the approaches for communicating on chemistry and discuss on the conditions for creating a constructive dialogue with the citizens.
- Follow these objectives by establishing close links with our partner intitutions in research, education and industry, chemistry societies and scientific and technical culture outreach associations.
Committees
The commission has a two-level organization: a national committee and 14 regional committees all over France. The national committee comprises representatives from the Fondation de la maison de la chimie, the Institute of chemistry of Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) and Société Chimique de France (SCF). Regional representatives are academic researchers and professors, and scientific mediators which interact with the national committee and the regional sections of CNRS, SCF, Union des Industries Chimiques (UIC), and associations...
This flexible organization allows the commission to adapt its collaborations and alliances according to needs and events.
